Stoked is a fascinating history of Southern California’s skateboarding scene in the late 1980s, a profitable and exciting time for then-rising superstars such as Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, and Steve Caballero, but a far darker experience for the much-worshipped Mark “Gator” Rogowski. Helen Stickler’s film begins with an entertaining overview of skateboarding’s renaissance in the ’80s, when Rogowski and other talented skaters in and around Los Angeles developed a massive following of boys, who in turn provided a market for flashy, Rogowski-endorsed designer boards and accouterments. For a time, the charismatic, handsome Gator became a wealthy sports celebrity in search of greater pop-star status. When the skating scene shifted from the half-pipe to the street, however, Rogowski’s fortunes, sanity, and freedom tragically erode. Stickler’s thorough research, smart pacing, and extensive interviews make this a compelling, cautionary tale; a jailhouse phone interview with the now-mid-30s Gator proves both enlightening and spooky.
@mrbooziebrews ROFLMAO.
DEFINITELY A CRIM EOF PASSION
BUT IT WAS THE WRONG GIRL, AND ANYWAYS, HE SHOULDA VE GOTTEN A REAL JOB AND GOTTEN A LIFE AND A NEW DESCENT GIRLFRIEND
LISTEN TO BARRO!
This guy is annoying as fuck
@SSDecontrol94 I’m not. I feel for the guy, I really do. I think that there are a lot of people out there who took advantage of him, including his materialistic girlfriend. But ultimately, he is responsible for his actions, and he deserves to be where he is. He should consider himself lucky he didn’t get the death penalty.
@Bhav341 thank you for the logical points, it’s nice that your not being rude and being negative toward Mark
@BillysAutomotive He should have gone and seen a shrink, then, not raped and murdered someone. Lots of people fall from the top and don’t kill anyone. Give me a break. You probably just have some homosexual crush on him.
@Bhav341 No, you are wrong. Dont comment if you dont know shit.
Think about this.
Your in your early 20s and you are one of the most famous people in the world. EVERYBODY is crazy about you. Then Suddenly, nobody wants you anymore. What do you do? You thought this is your career for the rest of the life. but then nobody wants you. That is when the mental issues came in. l
@IAlwaysLoveHer Hey i believe you bout the story bro lol.
@MrPrinceOfDarkness92 haha bro im not going to argue with you but really i dont know my uncle anymore veery well because he became a photographer who takes pictures in the middle of nowhere , but anyways look he is my uncle and no matter what you think or think you know , i really know the truth that he is
i smell Mkutra!!
@IAlwaysLoveHer
There is a difference between advising someone to turn themself in and turning someone in, not to mention that it’s well documented that Augie Constantino councelled and convinced Gator to turn himself in.
I think that your uncle may be talking out of his ass, maybe in an attempt to entertain you.
@lesterclaypool1 My uncle advised him to turn himself in and pretty much told him to or he would turn him in so techniquly he did turn him in
@IAlwaysLoveHer
How did your uncle turn him in when he turned himself in?
@IAlwaysLoveHer Yea we heard you the first time, just wanted to let you know

so many comments on this guy about how he was so mentally sick and deserves to get out on parole. . . . I just see a kid whose huge ego couldn’t handle the demise of his career.
@mrbooziebrews I think the documentary points out that he got stressed by the choice he made to invest in the commerciality of skateboarding instead of just rolling for the fun of it (which he had) turning out for the worse, with the company he was supported by collapsing, not having a company of his own and alienating his friends with the extravaganza of this. If he just continued to skate and not focus on that failure he would probably have a career today.
and I thought I was fucked up,. . . . . . . . . . .
thanks for uploading the video
